He had already begun his assault on the building; this one had less cars flying through the front door. It had been hours since the fire fight had initiatially started after he walked into the facility. He’d already used most of his explosives and was still killing soldier’s and B.O.W. back up mercs, he didn’t waste time chasing anyone around instead this time he let them all come to him. Body after body dropping until he finally made it to the lower level laboratories.
This was definitely more of a facility designed for research and development of different strains of viruses. It was apparent when he kicked down the door and what met him was something he hadn’t seen in years. A massive horde of… zombies? These things must have been fresh by a few weeks as if multitudes of the workers and homeless were thrown down here and sacrificed to prepare for Adam’s arrival.
Honestly the horde was the least of his worries, it might have been a while but the tactics used for them never really changed. Eliminate their ability to grab you or overwhelm you and dispatch them with a shot to the head. He went to work with his machete that he picked off of a PMC… better to just use it then use up whatever little ammo he had on him. After all besides grabbing just a few of the explosives he was traveling light, just his burst fire pistol, and a few mags.
It didn’t take long for him to clear out the horde, it was after all just barely big enough to be classified as one. Once he was finished with the last undead creature began moving around the underground facility placing small Improvised devises on each of the computers he could find and all of the equipment he could find for each storage area for any virus he placed a wad of C4.
He flipped a few switches on his remote and the devices on the computers activated, beginning a purge and shorting out every computer around. He waited until he was back in the elevator and going up it to flip the other switch which caused the floor below to rumble. Adam returned to the lobby of the building, greeted again by Mercenary forces and ExCell members. He didn’t hesitate for a moment before going to work on them as well.
Adam stopped after the corpse of the ExCell soldier dropped to the ground. His pulse tripled, his mind wandering and racing before his heart skipped a beat and he could feel the beginning of an attack start up. Not here… not now of all fucking times. She was close. He didn’t waste time as more soldiers were advancing, trying to hold on to his own mind as he scrambled behind cover the shakes starting to set in as they opened fire on his position and began advancing. They were getting worse, every noise, every bullet ricochet caused him to crumble into a ball. His brain going a million miles a minute.
A dull white noise started ringing in his head growing louder and louder just like before, so debilitating. A yell tore from his throat, a desperate attempt to try and get it all to stop drowned out by the gun fire. Everything began to sound dull as if it were a million miles away. A whisper only he could hear passed through his head faintly, repeating itself and growing louder each time until he could hear it clearly. It was Amy’s voice, not the A.I. the actual Amy… He blacked out.
“Adam… It’s time to wake up.”
