Reclaiming the Body

"I have," he replied, "give me the location."





"Dokk," he said pulled on his balaclava and then his ballistic mask, "give me the location, now." 






He shut his radio off and walked toward the blown in front door, the building had been raided years ago by the Government under the guise of being an Umbrella location, they weren't wrong and he was sure this was where Chambers had been taken due to satellite imagery. According to recent details the A.O. had been active but one SUV had left the area with three men, none of them carrying a body on them meaning Chambers was still there. There were two ExCell soldiers at the front door looking straight at him, but neither could see him due to their helmets technology and his ERC-7 actively running scrubbing his image from their HUDs. 

Vigil approached them quietly walking and stood next to the one on the left. 

"Hey," he said then drove his knife into his throat, the other reacted to watching blood just spill all over his comrade and began firing into the open area ahead of him apparently thinking he was sniped. Vigil just stepped over and pulled his BOSG shotgun off his back and casually raised it to the side of his head and fired knocking a 12 gauge slug through his right eye and out his left ear instantly killing him. He clicked his radio on, "are you hacked in?"



"Eung Free style," he said.






The music began blasting over the speakers, he entered the building putting his BOSG back on his back, the ExCell soldiers were now active after hearing the shot, he pulled his K1A off his opposite shoulder and went into action calmly walking them down opening fire, the only thing they saw was the flash of his gun but he was invisible as his carbine cut them down. He moved through the lobby up the stairs to the left, he was holding his knife in his left hand against his K1A's magazine, there was good reason as two men were heading down the stairs he cut one across the knee and opened fire on the side of his head with the Carbine then advanced forward stabbing the next under the chest plate dropping him to the ground.

Vigil moved to the second floor, the ExCell soldiers were all screaming about something invisible killing them, they were firing at any noise they could hear and he calmly continued forward putting his weapon on single shot tapping several down with a quick trigger pulls. He ejected the magazine of his weapon and silently walked across the office carpet looking to his left there was an ExCell holding cover looking around the corner, he walked up next to him and looked in the same direction and then turned off his ERC appearing in the area for the first time to their HUD, "Hello."

He dug his knife into the mans throat and his ERC activated again as he heard several moving toward him, like a glitch he fluttered out of vision. Vigil moved on them low as they began firing putting shots into their knees and then stood executing both with shots to the faces. The next room he entered was full of cubicles, many of them already torn apart from a previous gunfight years ago. This gave him the perfect opportunity to just start cutting through the soldiers there.

"He's using some sort of cloaking device! Helmets off!"

They always announced when they could see him, it made things so much easier. The ExCell soldiers began removing their helmets and the first one whose helmet came off was shot straight in the eye as he advanced on the three remaining men getting in range quickly, he kicked the M4 out of ones hand with a spinning kick and drove his knife in the throat of the man on his right before he could open fire, his body turned again delivering a kick to the inside knee of the next man who was also pulling up his rifle and shot him square in the face then spun and round house kicked the last one across the face dropping him to the ground. He casually walked past him lowering his K1A he opened fire on the man on the ground killing him.

"Dokk, inform Nero that I have killed Rick York," Vigil said moving into the hallway and up the next set of stairs.



"Turn the volume up, their helmets are off," he said.



He leaned calmly against the corner of the staircase wall and peeked around it quickly, several shots hit the wall where he had originally peeked and he came out of cover lower this time opening fire and hitting the two men down the hall head on killing them, the volume got louder on the music. ExCell soldiers were moving to the gunfire but he was already pushing them.

"Who the fuck is this guy?!"

"He's just one man!"

"I am the fucking Boogeyman," he yelled and came around the corner with the SMG-12 in his hand, when he pulled the trigger the bullets sprayed like crazy out the gun hitting one man he flicked to the next killing him then flicked the gun to his hip catching the holster as he pulled the K1A off his back again, fully loaded he began a firefight with five men as he moved around the next office between desks and cubicles moving quick and low keeping them disoriented as he assaulted them. A second later he was hand to hand on two of them knocking their weapons aside with the side of his weapon he impaled one in the throat with his knife and dropped to a knee avoiding a left hook and put the knife into the knee of the next man, he stood pulling the knife out into a slashing motion cutting the man across the face then stabbed it down into his temple killing him.

There was one man laying against a wall coughing up blood, he had been hit twice in the chest by the K1A. Vigil approached him.

"Who are you?"

"I am the Avatar of Death," he said kneeling at the mans side, the man raised his hand and Vigil grabbed it.

"Himura is already gone," the ExCell soldier said.

"I am not here for him, I am here for my commander," Vigil replied.

"He's dead."

"I know," Vigil pressed his knife into the mans throat slowly causing him to choke and spit blood onto Vigils ballistic mask, "I am here to bring him home."

Vigil stood grabbing his K1A off the ground and he wiped the blood off his knife onto his pants. There was only one room left, he made his way to the closed door and pulled it open, empty, except for one. A man laying face down in his own blood.

"VIP acquired."



"He is dead," Vigil said moving across the room holstering his K1A onto his back and rolled Chambers over, what Hija had done to him had brutalized their commanders usual stone face, tore it apart with gunshots, nothing Doc couldn't handle when they prepared him for the funeral. Dokkaebi was sobbing over the radio, "Grace, stop. You are in the presence of the commander, show your respect."



Vigil grabbed Chambers by the arm and pulled his body over his shoulders and stood clutching the SMG-12 in his hand as he left the room and began ex-filtrating the A.O. back down the same stairs he had come from. There was nothing but silence now that everyone was dead when he arrived at the front door of the ruins there was a single man standing there with a van ready for extraction.

"Hey bro," he said with a cool tone to his voice, his white hair stuck out even in the darkness, he turned to the van and opened the back where Vigil moved setting Chambers onto the open body bag inside and they zipped it up, "I'm going to fucking kill them."

"Calm yourself," Vigil replied to him, "we don't act until we've buried the commander Nero."

"You're not in charge 'Chul'."

Vigil looked in his direction, his cold eyes staring straight through the kid who called himself a Devil Hunter and tossed his SMG into the back of the Van, "do not make me put you in your place."

"Try me bitch, without the commander we're not-"

Vigil snuck a quick straight right into his noise lighting him up, Nero stepped back wiping his nose quickly and came in with a hard kick which Vigil blocked and then caught by bringing his other arm around it and tossed him to the ground. He twisted around on his leg letting go of it and catching his arm as Nero put it up to avoid getting elbowed in the face, he then turned putting his Nero between his legs but controlled him with his arm putting pressure at his elbow while bracing Nero with the back of his calf.

"I said calm yourself."



The voice over the radio was a woman who sounded mean as fuck. Vigil let Nero go who rolled onto his hands and knees and got off the ground dusting himself off. They both stared at one another for a minute then Nero let out a laugh holding his hand out in a fist, Vigil met him half way with his own fist.

Nero broke the silence, "best not piss off Cavi yeah?"

"Let's go," Vigil said moving to the van and closed the back doors. A minute later and the Van was heading back to GENTEC.
