GENTEC had opened its doors to many of the people who knew Alex Chambers in life, many were kept outside able to watch the ceremony and celebrate in the park in an area they had designated but for the most part the memorial was held on one of the upper floors of the GENTEC HQ. As everyone was seated and brought to silence a woman wearing a dark brown suit walked to the front of the room behind the podium, she was wearing a red cravat with a silver crucifix hanging just around the top of it. She also adorned a ceremonial sword that hung at her right side. Her suit had several patches sewn into the shoulders and one of the upper folds of the jacket, all of the labeling her as Hellsing, and several of the patches pointing to her as their direct commander, Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing.
There was pure silence in the room when she came front and center at the podium, finally she spoke, "Alex James Chambers was not just a man he was a legend. He came to Hellsing straight from the United States Army Special Forces, known by many of you as the Green Berets. When he arrived he was silent and many didn't know how to approach him, but this silence and willingness to get the job done is what brought respect to him in my eyes and the eyes of his comrades. He served with us as a foot soldier through the Incognito incident in early 1998 and survived the Millennium raids of 1999. He became a living weapon through the Vatican to ensure that he would never fall behind again on the battlefield and in 2005, when Hellsing came across the seas on the mission to stop Umbrella, the legend of Alex J. Chambers was truly born.
"He was fearless in the face of monsters no matter how large or small they were. His accolades extend from rescuing survivors of an RPD raid, taking down several tyrants while defending the temporary Hellsing foothold, and aiding in the final assault against Blu-Umbrella. In 2007, a decade after he joined Hellsing, he aided in taking down several of the NATAS 400 series tyrants alongside fighting NATAS head on. Alex Chambers left Hellsing after to remain in his home country, he left on an honorable discharge and was given full pension which he refused to collect even to his dying days. That pension is passed to his next of kin, his adopted daughter Alicia Chambers. After Chambers left Hellsing I kept in contact with his exploits from his countless selfless deeds in saving refugees from the corruption of the government all the way to his triumphs against many high threat foes. He made a name for himself as the Hero of the Wasteland, and I believe many of you would pray to the god of overwatch to watch over you as you traveled through the dangerous streets."
"Chambers deeds never ceased, he worked for the KING organization once again saving countless lives from the government and again aided in the Emerald Rain incident to help cure this doomed world. He died fighting for the survivors of the Outbreak, and he will be remembered as a hero... It is customary for Hellsing soldiers to say a prayer before going into battle, I will recite it for him... In the name of God, impure souls of the living dead shall be banished into eternal damnation. Amen."
There was a second after she finished where most of everyone joined in on the 'Amen' part. Integra stepped away from the podium, she walked down the stairs and sat back in the seat closest to the stage on the left. A man in a black suit stepped up to the stage.
"Is there anyone else who would like to speak on the behalf of the departing?"
The doors of the room opened and a cold draft had set in, darkness crawled up the center isle, Integra smiled, she knew he would come.
The Man that walked in the middle of this darkness was wearing a solid black suit, a red tie, and orange tinted sunglasses, his black hair hung long at his shoulders as he climbed the stairs one by one until standing behind the podium, he removed the sunglasses from his face and folded them hanging them from the pocket of his jacket. When he spoke it was chilling to the bone, his voice was deep but his words carried some form of malice.
"Chambers," he began, just saying the word was enough to send a shiver down most peoples spines, "there are very few men in this world that I love and you were one of them. You saw through me as a monster because you knew deep down I was a tormented soul tearing through this world looking for a way to end it all that would be acceptable to get me into the heavens that shun me. We dug our graves in hell with every kill, but today we wash your hands of it and I will carry the torch. Until the weight of my past is shattered by my oncoming future. It shouldn't be too long, my brother. I'll see you in Hell..."
He pulled away from the podium and walked to Chambers open casket behind him setting inside a single silver 13mm explosive round in his suit jacket pocket and stepped away from the stage. As he walked down the stairs he glanced over at Integra and nodded as he walked down the isle and sat at the back of the room.
"Is there anyone else, who would like to say something," the man asked.
