"You've go' t' be fuckin' kiddin' me mate," she yelled at the top of her lungs standing on the balcony looking down onto the crowded street a pack of zombies was mauling a poor bastard on the ground, some were fresh, the runners, others trailed in from the buildings across from the apartment she was sleeping in. It was right early in the morning, probably around seven if the sun had anything to say about it. She had plans to quietly sneak out the back but some dumb raider had gotten himself caught in the middle of a bad time and a hard place, aka he got shot in the leg by his friend who made off with a bloody bag about the size of a head, probably a bounty, who fucking knew.
She was yelling, her accent bleeding through thick as she was mad, different than her usual soft tone, "lousy sacks o' shite!"
Riley headed back in doors, she got dressed properly slipping a sleeveless red shirt over her black bra and pulled her jeans on, they'd seen better days but were still wearable despite the holes in the knees and upper thighs and the small holes on the ass end of them from how many times she'd slipped and ate shit on the pavement, it was a wonder how she was still alive today. It took her about fifteen minutes to get dressed and gather her belongings and repack them, she wasn't in a hurry given the audience outside. When she went back to the balcony she saw the crowd had spread out, the man on the ground was basically missing anything that made him a man from pelvis to shoulders, he was devoured in such a way that if he reanimated he'd simply be a set of shoulders and head.
"Poor bastard," she said quietly and moved over to the right side of the balcony and slipped her legs over it and jumped onto the edge of a brick divider that was around a story tall. She did a balance act down the side of it until it met the side of the apartment building where a garage was. Riley sat on the edge and slipped off the side landing into the alleyway on the opposite side and moved down the alley making damn sure to stay low and quiet. When she came street level she saw she was clear but still hugged the sidewalk.
Sure, she was close to protected territory given how close she was to Scum Row, but she wasn't exactly safe still. Riley slipped into a corner store and began shuffling through the isle for whatever was left grabbing a few snacks for her breakfast and found a tube of travelers tooth paste which she immediately opened and squeezed some into her mouth and began scrubbing at her teeth with her finger as she moved to the cooler and opened the door grabbing a bottle of water. She properly didn't smell the rot at first but immediately jumped when the inside of the cooler slammed against the glass and saw two arms reaching through rows of drinks and teeth snapping.
"Oh fuck off," she said, "almos' pissed my fuckin' pants ya twat!"
She rinsed the tooth paste from her mouth and spit it on the floor and wiped her face looking into the mirror of a sun glasses display to see if she left any behind when she yelled a minute ago.
